ABOUT ME

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
In 2015, God call Jo and her husband to “transplant” from New York State to Indiana. They had just finished their dream home after eighteen years, so this was a leap of faith. God had a new journey for them.
Prior to moving, in 1982-2008 they started a nonprofit in NYS, working with children, families, and individuals infected and affected with HIV/AIDS. They loved the people they met along the way. Jo was Executive Director of the nonprofit.
A new journey began when she attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting, and God began to heal her from the pain of losing her son Jason at the age of two. Later, she co-led Celebrate Recovery meetings for six years.
Jo also worked as a paralegal for many years.
Jo is the founder and curator of the Yahweh Sisterhood Book Club. This book club started in the homes of women. It is unique as the readers have the opportunity to read the book but also get to meet the author either in person or through Facebook or Zoom. You can view the interviews on YouTube at:

Jo has the first in a series of children's historical fiction coming out in 2022.
Jo is available to speak in person or virtually. She brings humor, energy, authenticity, faith, and strength she found in the Word of God to her presentations. She describes her journey through her darkest times and how God brought her to a relationship with the Light of the World.
She offers themed messages to your group and works with your team to customize a topic you have selected. She speaks before small or large groups, churches, or wherever God leads her.
Jo is the President of an online Word Weavers International group that meets on the second Saturday of each month. from 10:a.m. to noon. Go to the website and join the "page 44" group.
When she is not writing, Jo loves to spend time with family and friends. She loves to cook with her husband, who is a professional chef. Fishing is a hobby that she shares with her husband. She once caught a 90" sailfish when they vacationed in Cancun. They have eight children, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
In the Fall of 2022, Jo will be starting a podcast focusing on children, children's literacy, children's issues, children authors, writing education, and the love of writing.

Interviews
It is a privilege to be able to interview other authors. To gather insight into their writing processes. To learn from them.
However, it is an honor to be interviewed by another author. To be able to share your perspectives, writing process, dreams.
Here are some interviews where I shared my thoughts, perspectives, dreams.
I was given the opportunity to participate in a podcast. It was thrilling and exciting to be able to share my journey with others.
To listen to the my interview (I am #120) and more exciting and uplifting interviews, check out STEP INTO THE LIGHT with Patti Shene on BLOG TALK RADIO. Her show airs on Tuesday mornings at 8:00 AM MDT and can be heard on archive.
You can also catch Patti on Facebook and Twitter (@PattiShene).
